The man who was arrested on Monday for allegedly stealing more than $1,500 in the United States has been placed under house arrest, a Miami attorney announced Wednesday.
Michael J. Jackson was taken into custody in the city of Miami on Oct. 24, after being held on a warrant for allegedly selling prescription drugs, including Viagra, over the Internet. Jackson was originally charged and pleaded not guilty, but he was later ordered to appear before a federal judge in the United States District Court for the Western District of Florida, according to the Miami Herald.
Jackson is now facing a total of 36 felony charges, including two counts of money laundering, the Miami Herald said.

Jacks' bond is set at $1,500, and he faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, the newspaper said.

Jackson has not been charged in any of the cases.
Jackson was indicted in June on four federal charges, including one count of illegally selling prescription drugs under the direction of a state-licensed pharmacist, and one count of selling the drugs for a profit.
Jacks faces up to 20 years in prison for each count and a $250,000 fine.
The newspaper said there has been no evidence in the cases to suggest he was a party to a conspiracy to sell and distribute counterfeit prescription drugs, or the sale and distribution of the drugs in the United States.
"The allegations against him are so strong, and we are having the same reaction to this," a Miami Herald news release said. "He is a young man. This is just the tip of the iceberg. He was involved in some of the biggest cases, and we're not going to take any chances on his safety."
A spokeswoman for the Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office said the arrest was based on a tip on a person calling himself "Michael Jackson." She did not give the name of the caller, but it is common knowledge that Jackson may have called the wrong person.
Jackson has not been charged in any of the cases, and the newspaper said no more details of the case have been released.
"This is the first time we've seen Michael Jackson go to court and face a case where a lawyer has been appointed," a statement from the Miami Herald said.
Jackson was initially charged with the charges, which are punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
The Miami Herald did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.
In his statement to the newspaper, Jackson said he was "very excited" about the new charges. He said the new law would be "very much better" when he was placed in the hospital.
"I'm really hopeful that this will be the next step to bring him back, to make him feel better," Jackson said in a statement.
Jackson was arrested in the city of Miami on Jan. 21, and was arraigned on April 27.
He was released on $1.75, the newspaper said. The newspaper did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Jackson is accused of stealing more than $1,500 in the United States from 2004, and more than $1,700 from the Internet in 2010, according to documents obtained by the Miami Herald. Jackson was arraigned on Sept. 15, 2010.A spokesman for the Miami Herald said the news service was "very disappointed" with the arrest.
